Drone videos can be spectacular, but to edit the videos, well... it's not always so easy. Video editing is a skill especially when you don't always need to include all the footage that you have recorded, just the important bits that you feel will add to the narrative. But, with Parrot, there is an easier way.
You can now spend more time flying your drone and less time editing the footage because Parrot is adding a Flight Director feature to its FreeFlight Pro mobile app (for Android and iOS) that can automatically edit your drone footage. This is based on algorithms that study the drone's behaviour and look at several criteria while putting together the final footage which will be up to 3 minutes in length based on a handful of criteria, including the style (chronological, cinematic or trailer), pre-made themes and other existing footage. The biggest dilemma may be choosing your soundtrack.
You will have to be prepared to pay-up to get the full experience though. You will be able to create 15-second "best of" clips for free, but you will need to buy the premium version of the app if you want to unlock its full potential. Also, given that Parrot is behind the app, you will also need to own the Parrot Bebop 1, 2, or Power drone for this to work.
