For those who do not know LinkedIn is a business- and employment-oriented social networking service that operates via websites and mobile apps.
The company wants users to share as much as possible on the site, so they will be rolling out a video creation tool within its mobile app. The feature is only available for frequent contributors at the moment, but it will be available to everyone else soon.
LinkedIn said that: "Some stories are better shown than told. Video allows to evoke emotion, transport viewers, teach something or share some incredible piece of insight when words and images alone are just not enough".
With users that do have access to this feature, it can be found at the top, left of the camera icon that has always been there. When you click that LinkedIn will need access to your phone's microphone and then simply hit record. When you are done recording just hit "Next" and the video will show up as an attachment in a new post.
The reason why LinkedIn created this option is to help increase your productivity, front row seats at a conference, an insiders perspective on the day's news, or whatever else you can think of to increase your professional network. Before the update, users could attach videos saved in their photo library, but there was no option to create your own video on the spot within the app itself.
If you are a LinkedIn user, be sure to check out the update when it comes your way, who knows, it might help you land that job you have always been looking for.
