Google released the 'Trusted Contacts app' last year, to allow users to share their location with a few contacts to let them know about their whereabouts. The app has made some improvements to the Android app, namely the new language support, integration with Google Maps, and the ability to control the time sharing location and has also made the Trusted Contacts app available to iOS users.
You can send your location to your contact pro-actively as well in case of emergency situations. Google has updated the ANdroid app to version 1.5 to bring all the latest features like to ability to control how quickly your location is shared. The updated Trusted Contacts app also allows you to add a trusted contact with a phone number or by their email address and with this update it also brings nine new languages for a total of 25 worldwide. The languages include Amharic (Ethiopia), Greek (Greece), Persian (Iran), Bahasa (Indonesia), Macedonian (Macedonia), Burmese (Myanmar), Nepali (Nepal), Serbian (Serbia), and Urdu (Pakistan).
The update also brings better integration with Google Maps with permanent sharing of location so that the user can see where you are directly within Maps for better discovery. The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store or from Google Play.
