Instagram Stories have taken over Snapchat – which is kind of sad – but alas, the digital era needs to go where the millenniums go. Now it is finally available on your desktop and the mobile web, without the aid of a browser extension. The only catch is that you still need to use the Instagram app in order to update your feed.
Instagram Stories is an expansion of a platform already focused on visual communication, and one that is continually growing in popularity. Instagram Stories has already introduced much of the same functionality as Snapchat; users can morph their face using an augmented reality filter, as well as stickers, face filters, and of course, ephemeral messaging — key to the success of Snapchat.
Although it is better to watch Instagram Stories on your mobile app, watching it on the web will be a little different. Instead of swiping and tapping between bubbles to see what your friends are doing, arrows will be in place for navigation. To access Stories, head to the Instagram site and login to your account. Remember, the service might not have reached your account yet — you’ll have to be patient and keep an eye out for the update to come!
